Eligibility

Skills Bootcamps and Accelerators are funded by the UK Department for Education. There are specific rules about who qualifies. Most adults meet them.

The basics

  • Aged 19 or over on 31 August 2025
  • UK or EU resident for the last 3 years
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Not currently on another government-funded full-time course

Employment status

You can be unemployed, employed, self-employed, or returning to work after a break — all are eligible. Different courses suit different situations:

  • ·Accelerators (3 weeks full-time): hardest to combine with a full-time job. Best for jobseekers, returners, or people who can take leave.
  • ·Bootcamps (1 day a week): easier to combine. Some employers will release staff for the day — it's worth asking.

Priority groups

Where places are limited, we prioritise:

  • ·People claiming Universal Credit or Jobseeker's Allowance
  • ·Household income under £25,000/year
  • ·People made redundant in the last 12 months
  • ·Care-leavers and people from underrepresented groups in digital

What you need to bring on application

  • ·Proof of age (passport, driving licence, birth certificate)
  • ·Proof of UK/EU residency (3 years)
  • ·Proof of right to work (passport, BRP, or share code)
  • ·National Insurance number

Don't worry if you can't gather everything before applying — we walk you through document upload after the eligibility call.
