Overview

The Content Creator Level 3 apprenticeship is for businesses that want to bring content production in-house. Apprentices learn video, social storytelling, copywriting, photography, and the production workflows that connect them. Heavy emphasis on output — apprentices ship work from week one.

This standard covers a wider creative remit than the marketing apprenticeships — it's for people whose primary job is making things, not running campaigns. Most apprentices on this route work in editorial, brand content, or social media teams.

FAQ

Common questions

Do candidates need a creative background?
Helpful, not required. We've placed apprentices with backgrounds in retail and admin who've turned into excellent content creators. What matters more is editorial judgment and willingness to iterate.
What kit will the apprentice need?
We provide kit during their Wednesday session day. For workplace projects, you'll need to provide a working laptop and access to your editing software. Most employers already have this.
Can they specialise in video only?
Within the standard yes — the final portfolio can lean heavily into a specialism. But the curriculum covers the whole content remit, so they'll be at least competent in adjacent areas (copy, design, social).
How does this differ from the Video Skills Bootcamp?
Bootcamp: 12 weeks part-time, individual-facing, free to UK adults 19+. Apprenticeship: 14 months full-time, employer-led, levy-funded. Different products for different buyers.
