Apprenticeships

Case Study |

Tim Peck

Tim recently completed his Digital Marketing apprenticeship

with Bamboo Supplies Limited and is now a qualified digital marketer.  He spoke to us about what he loved most about his job apprenticeship…

Why did you decide to apply for an apprenticeship?

I knew I wanted a job in Marketing however I didn’t want to go to university. An apprenticeship was the perfect way to start
learning the trade directly in the field whilst also being able to earn money.

What advice would you give to someone considering taking on an apprenticeship?

Do it, you meet a lot of great people who can help you out and the experience you gain
from being in the work environment is like none other.

Tell me about your job role and what you loved the most?

I work for a small company, we sell Bamboo – I cover the digital marketing for them and have a wide range of tasks from Google Adwords/Analytics to Social Media. I am really passionate about the Google Shopping Feed + merchant store as it was a project I worked on and taught myself how to do using a variety of online tools.

What did you gain from doing an apprenticeship?

Knowledge, experience, a job, contacts, confidence… The list goes on.

What opportunities did doing an apprenticeship give you?

It gave me an introduction to the working world and allowed me to learn while also being able to interact with a business.
I also got to network with new clients and find out what it is like attending events.

If you had to use one sentence to describe your apprenticeship what would it be?

The start of my digital marketing career!
